Nach dem erfolgreichen Studium Deutsch, Russisch und Marketing führten sie Geschäftsreisen für verschiedene multinationale Unternehmen durch ganz Europa.
Seit ihrer glücklichen "Strandung" in Veendam/NL arbeitet sie als beeidigte Übersetzerin Deutsch-Niederländisch und Russisch-Niederländisch sowie als Sprachdozentin Niederländisch-Deutsch-Russisch.
Es gelingt ihr sowohl auf ihrer Violine als auch in ihren Übersetzungen immer den richtigen Ton zu treffen.

Der Quoten-Neuseeländer (Papatoetoe, Süd-Auckland) im Netzwerk. Stammt aus einer berüchtigten schottischen bzw. schottisch-nordirischen Teetrinker-Familie. Bob landete nach einer Weltreise am Silvesterabend 1988 in Deutschland und blieb irgendwie hängen (die deutschen Einreisebehörden tun offensichtlich alles für Geld).
Er ist Germanist, Groß- und Außenhandelskaufmann und seit Juni 2001 freiberuflicher Übersetzer für Deutsch - Englisch. Seit Ende 2005 ist er auch zuständig für die deutsch-englischen Übersetzungen bei Mediamixx. Er hat dafür eine Reihe von Rechtsschutz- und beruflichen Haftpflichtversicherungen abgeschlossen - bislang musste er sie allerdings noch nicht in Anspruch nehmen.

Arbeitet als freie Journalistin im Ruhrgebiet und darüber hinaus und entpuppt sich unter Mediamixx-Flagge bei der Produktion von "Edelstahl aktuell" regelmäßig als waschechter Metaller. Zwischen den Einsätzen drückt sie am Dortmunder Institut für Journalistik die Schulbank und genießt munter das Studentenleben. Besondere Affinität: Punkrock und Pelztiere wie Hund, Katze, Maus.

At the Lower Rhine she is certainly well-known, but a large part of the rest of the world knows her as well: Birgit Jahnsen, an original from the Lower Rhine and a professional in media and events.
Having a look at her career this is hardly surprising. After many journalistic projects at the WDR television station, she went to RTL where Birgit was on the camera presenting her own shows. Today she concentrates on event management, management and organisation for fairs, presentation of prizes for entrepreneurs or events like the Christmas fair at Schloss Moyland. With her professional dubbing and speaker voice she also guides tourists through the Dutch borderland as well as guiding visitors through the programme of a gala night. Additionally, Birgit manages the marketing for the NiederRhein magazine. Planning, organising and implementation: the relevant know-how and the necessary business contacts are included.
